MOTIF UK - DESIGN | CULTURE | FASHION | LIFESTYLE . . . and for this election . . . POLITICS

I'm concerned. Well I'm a bit frightened, actually. It's not long before we'll all be standing in front of a little piece of paper, and on it, we're expected to cross a little box and with that, apparently, sign away the future of the country. We're supposed to feel guilty for voting Cameron aren't we, because the Conservatives aren't known for having any morals whatsoever. And even though leftist governments always end in hopeless failure at least they have morals, right?

Oh dear.

In response to the nausea we're all feeling, MOTIF is chairing the only national debate on Media and Culture issues, with the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Ben Bradshaw, participating, as well as his Conservative counterpart Jeremy Hunt MP, and the Liberal Democrat Shadow, Don Foster.

The first round of questioning is over, and they're already releasing 'til now unannounced policy updates on Arts funding. Wonderful. So all of us creatives, independent gallery owners, theatre practitioners, artists and designers finally have an election debate on the issues that will effect us directly.

Catch up with the debate at motifmagazine.co.uk later this week, also check out our interview with Simon Roberts - the official artist of the general election.
